Who Are We? Why We're Building Depthly

Depthly started with a simple frustration: chess analysis tools are either too expensive, too complex, or don't actually teach you why a move is good or bad. We believe that everyone should have access to a top-tier coach.

Our Vision

We want to demystify chess. Engines like Stockfish will give you an evaluation, $+1.5$ or $-2.3$, but they won't tell you that you just blundered a crucial defensive piece, or that your king safety has been completely compromised.

With Depthly, we combine state-of-the-art chess engines with Large Language Models to give you natural language explanations.
